salām, welcome to you..
“Come, come, whoever you are;
wanderer, worshipper, lover of learning.
It does not matter. Ours is not a caravan of despair. Come, even if you have broken your vows a thousand times. Come, come, yet again come”
~ mevlāna jalāluddīn rūmi ~ (رحمة الله عليه)
When the Prophet ﷺ arrived at a distance of what Mawlāna Rūmi describes as ‘two bows length’, where He ﷺ was instructed by Allāh to leave on his blessed sandals (na’al) so that the entire arsh and the space inbetween could be blessed by those holy sandals. Not even Mūsa Alayhisalām was permitted to keep on his sandals on Mount Tūr to receive the manifestation of Allāh. What is Mount Tūr compared to the Divine Presence? Your entire life should be a reminder of the holy sandals of the Prophet ﷺ and we should look for any excuse to be reminded of those holy sandals that stood in the presence of Allah. It is not enough to just love, but to make everything around us a reminder of the One whom we love ﷺ.
